A Black Sea Tale
Black Sea region is very interesting and historical place in Turkey. You may find castles, monasteries, and mosques which are inherited from Pontus, Ottoman, and Genoese.
The most interesting part of the Black Sea besides all other things is the legendary female warriors called Amazons and their Queen Hippolyte.
We need to also mention all the natural features like large tea and hazelnut fields, valleys, and plateaus.
Day 1 / 7 September 2022 – Wednesday
Rize / Fırtına Valley, Pokut Plateau, Sal Plateau & Camlihemsin
We meet our guests after their arrival at Rize Airport and set off for a nice breakfast. After having our breakfast in the forest and with the view of the waterfall, we will visit the Fırtına Valley and visit the two most beautiful plateaus of the region. We reach Sal Plateau with a one-and-a-half hour journey with our vehicle. After taking our photos here, we pass through a path in the forest to the Pokut Plateau. After lunch on the plateau, we will watch Kaçkarlar, Hazindağ, Gito and Ayder from the top, depending on the weather conditions. Check-in to our hotel in the evening after our tours. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 / 8 September 2022 – Thursday Zil Castle, Palovit Waterfall, Çat Valley, Elevit Plateau, Trovit Plateau, Palovit Plateau
After breakfast at our hotel, a long and abundant day of sightseeing awaits us. First, we visit Zil Castle with our vehicle, and then we go to Palovit Waterfall, which is the highest waterfall in the region. After our tours of Çat Valley, Elevit Plateau, Trovit Plateau and Palovit Plateau, we will take a one-hour break in Kavrun, the highest plateau in the region, and have lunch. We return to our hotel in the evening. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 / 9 September 2022 – Friday Macahel, Maral Waterfall, Efeler & Kayalar Village
After breakfast, our journey begins. Our route today is Artvin…. Macahel is a paradise located in the mountains of the Borcka district of Artvin, consisting of the villages of Camili, Efeler, Regular, Uğurlu, Kayalar and Maral. At the same time, it has been declared the only biosphere reserve area of Turkey by UNESCO due to its rich vegetation, and it is also a border region that hosts the only temperate climate rainforests of Europe and Asia. On our tour, we will take a half-hour walk to Maral Waterfall, which pours out without breaking, in the company of the Monument Forests, over the village of Maral, and we will go under the waterfall with our guests who wish to cool off.
A surprise awaits you at our lunch. We will have our meal in a very special village house with the menu of Regional Georgian Cuisine today. After our dinner, we will visit the villages of Efeler and Kayalar and return to our hotel. After dinner, we will watch Macahel Documentary together at our hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 / 10 September 2022 – Saturday
Uğur Village, Çuripira Plateau, Papart Valley, Misirli, Meydancik, Karagol & Savsat
We say hello to a new day in Macahel and after breakfast at our hotel, we turn our route towards Uğur village and pass to Çuripira Plateau towards the heights. After our highland tour, we will go to the Papart Forests, one of the largest forests in Artvin, and continue from the Papart Valley to the village of Mısırlı. The Egyptian village is the northernmost and most beautiful village in the Şavşat district of Artvin province. It is waiting to embrace you with its beauties, flora and fauna. After our lunch, we visit Şavşat Karagöl this time and return to our hotel in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 5 / 11 September 2022 – Sunday
Deriner Dam, Mençuna Waterfall & Çağlayan Village / Rize
After breakfast at our hotel on the last day of our trip, we visit the Deriner Dam in the center of Artvin, and then go to the Mençuna Waterfall in Arhavi. After a short forest walk, we will reach Çağlayan village of Fındıklı district for lunch. By the creek, we will taste the most delicious menu of trout, after dinner, listen to the structure, history and culture of the historical Laz Mansions, and then set off for Rize Airport.
